Put your dos floppy/image in or mount it and install dosĭownload and install the free version of magicisoįind a copy of oakcdrom.sys (generic cd rom driver that works with dos. a copy of MSCDEX.EXE and oakcdrom.sys (both can be found online)Ĭreate a new virtual machine (make sure to add a floppy image drive if you are using vmware) Magiciso (the free trial version will do) VMWARE player (it's free) or virtualpc (I recommend VMWARE) much better off starting with dos on your machine installing windows 95 manually without the floppy setup disk you can avoid needing it using fdisk and format but I ran into issues trying to do it that way. you can get it working but it won't run smoothly Virtual pc does not officially support 95. You can do it manually and I find this works a lot smootherīut your first step is to stop using virtual pc and get VMWARE player You don't actually need the boot disk or setup disk
